This week marks Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week, a national campaign led by the Maternal Mental Health Alliance. The aim is to raise awareness, change perceptions, and help expectant and new parents access the support they need for their mental wellbeing during the perinatal period.
Did you know that around 1 in 5 women experience a mental health problem during pregnancy or within the early postnatal years? The emotional challenges that come with pregnancy and becoming a new parent are very real, and it's important to recognise that you are not alone.
The theme for this year is 'Finding your voice, Finding your strength.
Maternal mental Health is a very important aspect of overall health that must have attention paid to it.
